Our No-Guilt Philosophy

Our No-Guilt Philosophy

In Women4given, we want our members to be involved as much or as little as they want.

Back when the founders were dreaming up this organization, they decided there should be no mandatory meetings for members—or other requirements, such as service projects or committee involvement.

potato drop 3After all, it’s tough to be a cheerful giver when you feel pulled in many different directions. Women are busy enough, and they were determined that Women4given not become a source of guilt in members’ lives.

Since we’re a giving circle, our membership requirements are incredibly simple: over the course of a year, give a dollar a day to Women4given. Many of our members are involved at the financial level of membership, simply writing a check annually. Without these Financial Members we wouldn’t have the funds needed to give impactful grants.

In a way, Financial Members form the bedrock of Women4given’s structure.

Activity Members make an effort to become informed about the needs in our community and accordingly give their time to serve agencies that help women and children.

Without the time and energy investments of such women, Women4given would be a check-writing club, with little understanding of the non-profits in our community.

Hence, Activity Members are the strong steel beams of which our walls are built, making internal growth and community impact possible.

Leadership Members join or co-chair the Grants Task Force (which steers the annual grant-awarding process); lead Volunteer, Program, or Membership Committees; or serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors.

Leadership Members have the unique opportunity to work together as a team of architects, designing an entity that builds upon bedrock and coordinates steel beams—all to the glory of God.

Are you as involved as much as you’d like? From volunteer activities to the Program Committee to Chaplain to Chair of Communications (and many more opportunities), there’s a place in Women4given just for you. Just keep in mind: no pressure, no guilt—that’s our philosophy.
