Our total impact of awards since 2011 amounts to $170,638.

2018 – $21,500

$20,000 large impact grant awarded to R3 Development funding their internship program for one full year. High school interns will learn construction skills, money management skills and other life skills through the R3 program. This training will help the students to compete for and earn a livable wage, and thereby stem the tide of generational poverty and its most common symptom, hunger.

$1500 to Christian Activity Center for runner up, discretionary grant. The CAC prepares the youth in East St. Louis academically, emotionally, spiritually and physically to make healthy life choices.

2017 – $20,000

$18,000 to St John Bosco Children’s Center to completely renovate the main kitchen/dining area of the center and purchase new appliances to make the kitchen a “homey” environment for the children. The Center provides a safe-haven to children ages 6 to 13 through a long-term treatment program and is the only one of its kind in Southern Illinois.

$1500 to Project Compassion for runner up, discretionary grant. Project compassion is an organization dedicated to promoting the empowerment and enhancement of disadvantaged and low-income women and children.

$500 to The National Foundation of Ectodermal Dysplasias for our “out of the box” grant. The organization received a check for $500 which is being used to mail books to children and families affected by this disorder. The books are designed to promote awareness and encourage children with Ectodermal Dysplasias.

2016 – $18,000

$15,000 to Leu Civic Center to purchase computers, printers and updated classroom furniture and school supplies for their After School Homework Help program.

$2,000 to Covering House to underwrite spiritual services for female victims of sex trafficking.

$1,000 to Simple Room to expand their summer literacy program called Project24 by adding 12 children in their Christ centered program.

2015 – $24,200

$15,000 to Rebirth: East St. Louis to provide affordable quality housing for families and job skill training for youth

$3,020 to the Christian Activity Center to support the Here We Grow edible garden project and nutrition education program for mothers and children

$2,700 to Kids for Christ to fund a Kids Community Bible Study (after-school Bible study program with Bible lessons, crafts, music, and activities) at a Southwestern Illinois public school

$2,400 to Christian Activity Center to sponsor education, life enhancement, and recreation for two girls

$1,080 to Chances for Children to provide the financial support to care for one child in their orphanage in Haiti for one year

2014 – $23,000

$6,000 to the Christian Activity Center of East St. Louis to underwrite a library and quiet space for children ages 4-8

$5,000 to Rebirth: East St. Louis to fund an after-school spiritual and educational development program for teen-age girls

$5,000 to Beacon Ecumenical Ministries of Belleville to support a life coach to counsel clients, develop life plans and coordinate services

$3,000 to Bibles for Honduras of Fairview Heights to furnish illustrated Spanish children’s Bibles for free distribution in San Pedro Sula, Honduras

$3,600 to Christian Activity Center to sponsor education, life enhancement, and recreation for three girls

$400 to Marion Medical Mission to finance one shallow well in a village in Africa.

2013 – $21,638

$5,000 to Christian Activity Center to build the “Brain Bin,” an after-school computer suite for elementary students, including furniture, construction materials, and Google Chromebooks

$4,800 to Christian Activity Center to continue sponsorship of four CAC girls

$3,038 to The Covering House of St. Louis to fund training for adult caregivers of victims of sex trafficking

$1,800 to Heartlinks Grief Center of Belleville to support an after-school mobile outreach program for grieving children in East St. Louis and surrounding community

$2,000 to Project Compassion, NFP, of Belleville to fund delivery van repair work in order to maintain distribution of food and hygiene items to homeless clients

$2,000 to Violence Prevention Center of southwestern Illinois to purchase beds and bedding for two new bedrooms in remodeled storage space

$1,000 to Heifer International to buy two families one heifer each

$900 to Bulgarian Orphans Project to buy diapers and formula

$840 to Marion Medical Mission to build shallow wells in two villages in Africa

$260 to World Vision to purchase life-saving medical supplies for children in the world’s poorest countries; our gift was matched ten-fold, resulting in $2,600 worth of medical supplies.
